Known for its non-linear exploration, La-Mulana is a “Metroidvania”-style game. As a result, the game’s core is deciphering riddles scattered throughout the ruins, as well as solving puzzles they contain.
With sprawling ancient ruins, mind-boggling mysteries, untold items, and terrible enemies, La-Mulana 2 is possibly the best “archaeological ruin exploration action game” of the Metroidvania genre.
As Lumia Kosugi, daughter of the previous title’s hero, you explore the ancient ruins of La-Mulana, the cradle of human civilization, in La-Mulana 2. Lumia sets off for the “other” La-Mulana in an attempt to find out what is causing the monsters to appear from the ruins.
As you make your way to the deepest depths of the ruins, you will have to solve mysteries and riddles using stone tablets and messages you discover along the way, and take out huge monsters known as “Guardians.”
